FAQ
Questions about Spark AI
Straight answers about cost, sign-in, the waitlist, experts and your data.
How much does Spark AI cost?
Spark AI does not ask for payment anywhere today. Every student gets five free AI doubts a day, and the count starts again at midnight, India time.
Talking to an expert does not use any of your five AI doubts.
What counts as one of my five doubts?
Each question you send to Spark AI. If Spark AI cannot answer it, needs one more detail from you, or holds back an answer that failed its own checks, that doubt is given back. Tapping send twice by accident is still one doubt.
If what you send is not a study question, Spark AI says so in one short reply and suggests what you can ask instead. Up to five of those a day are given back as well.
How do I sign in?
With your mobile number. Spark AI sends a one-time code by SMS; you type it in, and you are in. There is no password and no separate sign-up: a new number becomes a new account once its code is confirmed.
Indian (+91) mobile numbers only, for now.
Why does it say I am on the waitlist?
Spark AI is in early access and open to a limited group of approved students. Anyone can sign in and set up their account. If your number has not been approved yet, you will see the waitlist screen when you finish setting up, and your place is kept.
There is no separate form to join. When your access is approved, signing in with the same number takes you straight into the app.
Who is Spark AI for?
Students in Class 11 or Class 12, and students repeating the year, who are preparing for JEE, NEET or EAPCET. You choose your class and exam when you set up, and Spark AI answers with that in mind.
Spark AI knows which subjects your exam examines. It does not follow a board’s chapter list or textbook, so it will not tell you which chapter a question is from. When a question looks beyond what your exam usually asks, it still answers, and adds a note suggesting you check with a teacher.
Are the answers always right?
No. Spark AI is an AI and it can be wrong. Before an answer is shown, the server recomputes the arithmetic in the working, substitutes roots back into the equation and counts the atoms in a final chemical equation, and an answer that fails those checks is corrected or held back. Explanations in words cannot be checked that way.
That is why every answer ends with “Did this clear your doubt?”. If it did not, you can take it to an expert.
Who are the experts, and are they always available?
Experts are people the Spark AI team adds one by one. Nobody can sign up as an expert.
They are not always online. The app shows whether an expert is online before you ask, and the hours experts are scheduled when the team has set them. If nobody is online, you can ask for a callback instead, and someone at Spark AI will call you on your registered number.
What happens in a session with an expert?
You chat with the expert in the app, by text or voice notes. The expert sees your question and Spark AI’s answer, so you do not have to explain it again. You also have two minutes of video call time with experts each day, shared across all your calls; chat does not count against it. During a call the expert can draw on a shared whiteboard or share their screen.
Video calls are recorded so that a complaint can be looked into, and you are told before you join. The recording has the expert’s camera and screen and both voices, never your camera.
Afterwards the session stays under your doubt: who you spoke to, how long it ran, and a short summary of the typed conversation, written by the AI and labelled as such.
Can I go straight to an expert without asking the AI first?
Yes. From the home screen, choose a subject and, if you like, describe what you need. With a question it is a doubt; left blank, it is a consulting call for general guidance in that subject. Either way, it does not use your AI doubts.
Can I ask anything?
Spark AI answers study questions. Anything else gets a friendly reply pointing you back to your subjects, and you can ask your next study question straight away.
Abusive messages are different. The first one gets a warning; a second within 30 days pauses free AI doubts for seven days. You can still talk to an expert while they are paused.
Can my parents see my questions?
A parent can link to your account only if you accept their request from your own account. Once linked, they see how you are using Spark AI: counts, subjects, times and outcomes. They never see your questions, Spark AI’s answers, your messages or your reviews.
How do I delete my account?
From Account in the app, or from the delete-account page, which works without signing in. Either way you confirm your number with a fresh code. Your number, name, questions, photos and messages are then erased. A few records that no longer point to you, such as the count of doubts used, are kept.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Spark AI runs in your phone’s browser. If you use it often, you can add it to your home screen from the browser menu and open it like an app.
